Community Campus Garden

The Food Security Research Network offers individuals, organizations, families and groups an opportunity to enjoy the benefits of growing fresh and local food in the Community Campus Garden. The Community Campus Garden also benefits the LUSU food bank.

The Campus GardenBeds and rows of various sizes may be reserved on a first-come, first-served basis. Each individual plot is 10×10ft, and increases from there depending on the request and intended use. There is a $40 charge per plot. Plots can also be divided for those who are unable to tend the whole space.

We are starting a horticulture therapy certificate program coordinated by Judi Vinni from Willow Springs Creative Centre. Therapeutic programming will be available to organizations wishing to use horticulture therapy through gardening as part of their community services. If you are interested, please see the Willow Springs brochure at Willow Springs Creative Centre (www.willowsprings.ca) or contact Judi Vinni directly willowsprings@tbaytel.net

Location

Located between the Hangar and the McIntyre River on the LU Campus, the garden is comprised of over 100 plots used by gardeners from across the community.

Plenty of parking is available near the Hangar, accessible from Oliver Road at the Sanders Drive entrance to the LU Campus.
